I haven't written an entry on this blog for a long time. Can you say busy? Actually, I am not the busiest person around, but busy for me. Well, I am a piddler, for want of a better word. That is the word that I've heard used around here for all my life about people who do not do something as hard and fast as they can, but do a little bit of this, a little bit of that, just piddle around. Yeah, that would be me.
This morning I am babysitting Garrett, the youngest grandchild (for now) while his mother (Julie) goes to her doctor appointment (expecting twins in July-yayyy!). Garrett is sleeping, so I am playing on the computer. I really need to get the house straightened up, because Julie, Garrett and I are leaving early Friday morning to go to Wichita Falls, Texas and Sheppard AFB to see Scott (Julie's husband and Garrett's daddy) and won't be back until Monday sometime. I need to leave it at least as clean as I like to have it when I am here because although Bob will cook and clean for himself, he has to work also and won't spend a lot of time on any housework or clean-up. On second thought, it's gonna be a mess when I get home, either way. (Shades of Aunt Bea)
In the meantime, I am sewing up costumes for the outdoor Passion Play that New Mansion Church is putting on this weekend. It was originally supposed to be the weekend of March 23-24 but it was freezing cold, snowed and wind howling that weekend, so it was postponed until this weekend. Supposed to be beautiful weather this weekend, I hope the forecast is correct.
Originally, I thought I was sewing on 6 (count 'em, 6) costumes for the play. When I asked to make sure a week or so later the count had increased to 12!~12!~12! Wheewwwww! Calling my womanly super powers up, I bravely forged ahead and got 6 made pretty fast. Then, when I found out the play had been postponed, I immediately quit sewing on the costumes for a few days. Did I say procrastinator? I am a world class procrastinator...OK, I started sewing again a few days ago and got 3 more finished, now I only have 3 left to make, plus some gold colored stoles (?) for want of a better word to hang around the neck. It only takes a couple of hours per costume so I will finish with time to spare...yes I will.
Did I ever mention I don't like sewing? Yes, I believe have mentioned that several times. I have to be in a mood. Well, something as good as a Passion Play is a great motivator and while I don't really enjoy sewing, it is something I can do fairly well and so I feel like I can do a part to help with the play, therefore I bravely (tongue in cheek) continue on with the sewing.
Also before I take off to Texas I have 25 Ozark Beauty strawberry plants which I ordered from HenryFields that needs to be set out.
I don't really have a good bed prepared for them because that is the way I do things (or DON'T do things?), cart before the horse and all that, but I am just going to go ahead and set them out in the little beds I have around my back porch where I grew green beans last summer. Hopefully they will be O.K.
So, I am going to be busy if I ever make myself get up from the computer and get busy.
More later.
